TRAVELLERS REST QUOITS TEAM APRIL 2026

The pub team plays in the B division of the Lower Dales Quoits League. Games are played on a Wednesday evening through the summer, and our first game this year is on 29 April.

This will be only our 3^rd season, so many of our players only started from scratch in 2024, but last year we finished in the top half of the table and won our first piece of silverware, the B division Captains Trophy.

We welcome new players to come and try the sport at regular practice sessions, usually on Sunday evenings from around 6pm. Please come along if you’re interested, or for more information, ring Richard Wright on 07827 717575.

AUGUST 2026 LOST QUOITS TROPHY RETURNS TO SKEEBY.

Members of the quoits team at the Travellers Rest, Skeeby held a tournament to play for the Inhouse Championship trophy and it was won by Ian Allan. Ian recently re-discovered the trophy sitting on a shelf at The Bay Horse pub in Tunstall and returned it to the Travellers Rest. Ian was pleased to be able to add his name to the trophy again. The photo shows the captain, Richard Wright, presenting the trophy to Ian in the beer garden at the Travellers Rest watched by other team members Barry, Roger, Kit and Ron.

The quoits team at The Travellers Rest was resurrected when the pub re-opened in 2023 as a community pub and has now just completed its third successful season in the Lower Wensleydale Quoits League. The quoits league is open to both male and female players and the team at the Travellers Rest would love to welcome new players of both sexes for next season.
